Spanish Cooking
by Pepita Aris

Spanish Cooking by Pepita ArisSynopsis
As both cooks and eaters, we have never been more enthusiastic about sampling the cuisines of other countries. The Global Gourmet series presents a range of dishes, recipes and ingredients from countries and cultures all around the world. This title presents over 100 regional recipes from Andalusia, Extremadura, New Castile and La Mancha, Old Castile, Galicia, Astruias and Cantabria, the Basque Country, Navarre and Aragon, Catalonia, Levante and the Balearic Islands.

Back to the kitchen . . . (March 2005)
Reviewer: "eggbound" - See all my reviews

This is a great little book, with many nice, simple, traditional recipes available for all to try. Some of my favourites in here including the Arroz con Leche, Gazpacho Rojo and Filloas de Mexilóns among others.

The recipes are split into 11 chapters, each representing a different region(s). Including Galicia, Andalusia and Navarre and Aragon. The introduction explains the different regions of Spain.

My only reservation about this book is that it is a bit short and not enough recipes! But seriously, there is no real information about the author and the introduction is a bit short, but I can live without them.

Lovely!

A perfect travelling companion for the holiday cook (August 2000)
Reviewer: A reader

This is the perfect book to take on a Spanish self-catering holiday:slim to pack and full of well illustrated ideas I wanted to try using ingredients readily available. The results were uniformly delicious. As we were in Catalonia I started with Beef with Chocolate followed by Creme Brulee Icecream and moved on from there. I have continued to use it to brighten the British summer since my return.
