Information
. . . things that might help to arrange your holiday
Cooking
holidays are not like the mainstream package holidays
that most people are used to. These are bespoke holidays
tailored to the requirements of a select few and organised
by individuals or small businesses motivated by their
enjoyment of their way of life and a desire to share
it with you for a brief period.
Being
for few in numbers and having none off the buying power
of the big multinational travel companies travel arrangements
are rarely, if ever, included in a cooking holiday.
The reason for this is twofold. Firstly, as I have said
there is not the economy of scale to make it cost effective,
and secondly, with low-cost flights booked via the Internet
now firmly here to stay it is far more cost effective
to book your own flights.
Booking
your own flights means that you can arrange to fly from
where is most convenient to you and by cutting out the
middle man you benefit from low pricing.
The
same logic applies if you wish to travel by car to a
cooking holiday in France. It is cheaper and easier
to make your own arrangements, whether it is the booking
of a cross channel ferry, raveling through the Chunnel
or flying to your destination and then hiring a car
locally.
Listed
below are links which you may find useful. The list
is not exhaustive and you may find others by searching
the Internet.
