The Best Malteser Cake

It is many years since Hub-UK was first launched. It has been created from recipes contributed form all over the world, from professionals and amateurs alike.

This is one such recipe which has been contributed by Daniel Mumford who is at present a level two catering Student in Wales.

Ingredients

85g / 3 oz Butter
2 tbspn golden syrup
2 tbspn cocoa powder
170g / 60 z digestives, crushed
1 x 175g bag Maltesers, half crushed + half left whole

Method

  • Melt the butter and golden syrup in small heavy base saucepan.
  • Stir in the cocoa powder, digestives and crushed Maltesers until well combined.
  • Allow to cool slightly, then stir through the whole Maltesers.

  • Line a 1lb Loaf tin with cling film, pour in the mixture and press down well, but be careful not to crush the whole Maltesers.
  • Chill until set. About two hours
  • Slice into chunky fingers and serve.

Makes 1 cake
