Ingredients
One 8-inch round
puff pastry
1 medium-large Golden Delicious apple, peeled,
cored and thinly
sliced
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cold sweet butter cut into bits
1/2 cup apricot preserves strained
1 tablespoon Calvados
Method
Preheat the
oven to 425 degrees F.
Arrange the
pastry and a baking sheet, top with the apples
forming concentric circles and sprinkle with
sugar.
Dot with the
butter and bake for 30 minutes, or until pastry
is golden.
Meanwhile, in
a small saucepan combine the apricot preserves
with the Calvados, bring to a boil and simmer
for 2 to 3 minutes, or until smooth and thick.
Brush the apples
with the glaze and transfer to a serving dish.
